How it works
Simple maths, honest inputs.
Cost is the number of seats multiplied by the seat price, plus usage for Enterprise. Seat prices default to Anthropic's published list prices in US dollars; change them to what you will actually pay.
Value is the people who use Claude each week, multiplied by the hours each saves and the cost of an hour of their time, over an average month.
Break-even is how much time each weekly user needs to save for the seats to pay for themselves. For most teams it is a small number, which is why the real question is adoption: whether people use it well, every week.

How much does Claude cost for a business?
At the time of checking (4 November 2026), Anthropic listed Claude Team at US$20 per standard seat per month billed annually, or US$25 billed monthly, with premium seats at US$100 or US$125. Enterprise was listed at US$20 per seat per month billed annually, plus usage at API rates, with a minimum of 20 seats. Prices change, so check Anthropic's pricing page before you budget.
What is the difference between standard and premium seats?
On Claude Team, both seat types include Claude's features. Premium seats come with five times the usage of a standard seat. Most businesses give standard seats to most staff and premium seats only to heavy users, such as engineers who use Claude Code all day.
How many hours does Claude save?
It depends on the work and how well Claude is set up. A conservative estimate of one to three hours a week for regular users is a sensible starting point. The best way to know is to run a short pilot with one team and measure it.
Does this include setup and training?
You can add a one-off setup and training budget to see the payback period. Setup and adoption are where most of the value is decided, so it is worth budgeting for them explicitly.
