In practice
Claude Code is for software teams. Engineers use it to explore unfamiliar code, fix bugs, write tests, make changes across many files and prepare pull requests. It works best with clear guardrails: a CLAUDE.md file describing the project, sensible permissions on which commands it may run, and normal code review before anything is merged.
Rolling out Claude CodeIt is designed for people working in a codebase, so it is mainly used by engineers. Non-technical staff are usually better served by the Claude apps, Projects and Skills.
