Claude for recruiters

Claude for recruiters: better hiring, people still deciding.

Recruiters write constantly: adverts, role briefs, interview guides and messages to candidates. Claude speeds up all of it. What it should not do is read CVs or decide who goes through, and we set it up so it does not.

Safe use

People decide, not AI.

  1. 01

CVs, applications and candidate details never go into general AI tools.

  2. 02

AI does not rank, score or reject candidates. People make every decision.

  3. 03

Adverts and interview guides are reviewed for fairness before they are used.

  4. 04

Candidate messages use placeholders; names are added in your own systems.

What Claude helps with

Better hiring content, written faster.

  • 01

    Inclusive job adverts

Clear adverts from a short brief, with only the requirements that are genuinely essential.

  • 02

    Role briefs

Turn a hiring manager's notes into a structured brief: purpose, outcomes, skills and the interview plan.

  • 03

    Interview questions and scoring guides

Structured questions tied to the role, with what a good answer looks like, so every candidate is assessed the same way.

  • 04

    Candidate communications

Templates for invitations, updates and rejections that are clear and respectful.

  • 05

    Employer brand content

Careers page copy, social posts and 'life at' stories in your voice.

  • 06

    Market research

Summaries of how similar roles are described and what candidates look for, from sources you provide.

Prompts to try

Copy, paste, adapt.

Starting points written for recruiters. Replace the [brackets], leave out names and anything personal or sensitive, and check the output before you use it.

  • Inclusive advert

Write a job advert for a [role] at a [type of business] from the brief below. Use inclusive, plain language, avoid jargon and gendered words, and only list requirements that are genuinely essential. Under 400 words.

  • Scoring guide

For a [role], write six structured interview questions linked to these competencies: [list]. For each, describe what a strong, adequate and weak answer would include, so every interviewer scores the same way.

  • Respectful rejection

Write a short, kind rejection template for candidates who interviewed for [role]. Thank them, keep it honest and offer feedback on request. Use [Name] as a placeholder. Under 100 words.

How it works

A fairer hiring process, written faster.

    Brief the role

The hiring manager's notes become a clear role brief.

  2. 02

    Advert and guide

Claude drafts an inclusive advert and a structured interview and scoring guide.

  3. 03

    Human review

You check both for accuracy and fairness before anything goes live.

  4. 04

    People decide

Candidates are assessed by people, against the same guide, in your own systems.

Questions

Good questions.

Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.

Should we use AI to screen CVs?

We advise against putting CVs and applications into general AI tools, and against using AI to rank or reject candidates. It raises fairness, data protection and legal questions. Use Claude for adverts, briefs, interview guides and templates instead.

Can Claude help us write fairer job adverts?

Yes. It can draft adverts in plain, inclusive language and question requirements that are not essential. A person should still review every advert before it is published.

Is Claude useful for recruitment agencies as well as in-house teams?

Yes. The same uses apply: adverts, briefs, interview guides, candidate communications and employer brand content, with candidate data kept out.
